Freddie Starr dead: Comedian’s ‘worried’ pals said star was ‘unrecognisable’ before death
FREDDIE STARR was found dead at his home aged 76 in Spain yesterday, according to reports, with a source claiming he had been “quite ill”.

During his lifetime, Freddie Starr suffered with a string of health problems including a lung condition in 2015. Back then, friends of the comedian said they were “worried” about him, after his condition left him wheelchair-bound. A friend at the time told the Sunday People: “People wouldn’t recognise him now. He honestly is completely unrecognisable from even a few years ago. We’re all so worried about him."

The comedian and Opportunity Knocks star is reported to have died at his home from natural causes.
He was reportedly found dead at his Costa Del Sol apartment by a carer.
A neighbour told The Sun: “Freddie hadn’t looked well for some time and rarely ventured out.
“Whenever he appeared recently his head would be down and he’d be smoking.”
Freddie had also previously suffered from asthma and heart problems.
Just days before his death, he took to his Facebook page to reveal he was tired.

After asking his fans if they were OK, he added: “I’m OK getting tired more now but otherwise I'm doing good.
“I just have to say thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the kind comments and messages.
“It really does mean a lot so thank you to each and everyone of you thanks so much. Freddie.”
Back in 2011, Freddie fell ill during his stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
He reportedly spent the night at the Cardiac Care unit at Tweed Hospital in New South Wales after feeling “breathless”.
He left the camp after just 72 hours after suffering an allergic reaction.
At the time, he said: "I was sick not to finish the show. I wanted to be there until the very end, but there's no use crying over spilt milk.
“The decision has been made and I have to live with that."
Following the news of his death, many of his fans and fellow showbiz pals flocked to Twitter to pay a tribute.
The Apprentice star Lord Sugar tweeted: “According to some news reports Freddie Star has died in Spain.
“If true sad news, he was a very funny man RIP.”
Emily Atack’s mum Kate Robbins also paid a tribute to the star by sharing her favourite memory of him.
She wrote: “Rest in peace Freddie Starr.
“Here he is doing his ‘miming to a broken tape’ which keeps speeding up/down.
“I’ve never seen anyone else accomplish this Brilliant.”
