Jenny Ryan: EastEnders actor apologises after he ‘EVICTS’ The Chase star in awkward mishap
JENNY RYAN, who is widely known as The Vixen on ITV quiz show The Chase, said EastEnders star Dean Gaffney apologised to her after he took her booked train seat earlier today.
This Morning: Jenny Ryan reveals SECRET about The Chase
The Chase star Jenny Ryan, 37, took to Twitter to comment on the awkward encounter, informing her followers the Robbie Jackson actor had apologised for the mishap and sent her a cupcake. In view of her 43,000 followers, she tweeted: “I have just been evicted from my booked train seat in favour of Dean Gaffney. Oh, the indignity. “Sometimes a Twitter whine works - Dean has sent his apologies and a cupcake. Ta, Dean!” Jenny’s post prompted many of her social media fans to share their thoughts on the encounter.
One user wrote: “I’m sorry but if you had booked it I wouldn’t have moved!!
“Your money is just as good as his. I’m sorry but I would not have moved!!”
But Jenny insisted it was “all good” as the carriage was needed for filming.
She replied: “Ah, it's all okay - they needed the carriage to film something, and I'm in a nice comfy seat just two carriages down now.
“They were very apologetic and I now have a yummy cake!”
Another user commented: “To be fair, it is his birthday (which I only remember because it’s also mine) #onlythebeautifularebornonValentinesDay.”
The Vixen replied: “Happy birthday Julie... and @deangaffney1!”
Oh, the indignity.
Another wrote: “You should have demanded a quiz-off to decide who got the seat.”
Jenny responded: “He's got the whole bloomin' carriage (filming something)!”
Meanwhile, earlier this week, her co-star Mark Labbett defended Jenny after Twitter users called for her to be sacked after solo contestant Judith won £70,000 against her last week.
Responding to a user who called her performance “appalling”, she replied: ”My performance through most of the show was above par.
“I may have lost the Final but that was because my opponent was OUTSTANDING, not because I was ‘appalling’. Nothing to defend - I was outplayed. #TheChase.”
Mark weighed in on the debate, tweeting: “Interesting, Jenny has by FAR the best win-loss record on #thechase over the last three years yet the moment she loses (to a great solo 20) somebody calls for her to be sacked. Everyday Sexism?”
She then asked her fellow chaser: “I was wondering - how much of this do you get when you lose, Mark? I do wonder if there's a gender thing.”
Mark replied: “Nobody has EVER called for me to be sacked or replaced.”
Jenny replied: “Really? I have seen about a dozen in my mentions alone in the last 20 minutes. I even get these comments when I win :(“
The Chase continues tonight at 5pm on ITV.
