The 46-year-old Spice Girls star added fuel to the fire of fans’ excitement yesterday when she posed for snaps on a carousel in Brighton.
Wrapped up warm in a pale pink faux fur jacket, she perched on one of the horses and gazed off to the side as her brunette locks blew in the wintry wind.
“I’m in Brighton for the day and didn’t expect to see this.” she told her 739,000 Instagram followers. “This carousel was where we (Spice) had or first ever photo shoot.”
Geri added the hashtag: “#howfarwehavecome.”
Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards
She also uploaded a video containing a cryptic message, saying: “This is the very carousel [where] The Spice Girls had their first photoshoot in Brighton.
“Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards.”
A throwback to the early days of the iconic girlband shows Geri posing alongside fellow band members Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C on what appears to be the same fairground ride.
Fans rushed to comment on Geri’s post, with one saying: “One of my fav pics of the band!”
“The countdown is on… I’m p*****g my pants with excitement,” another chipped in, while a third added: “I reckon you should recreate said photoshoot.”
According to The Sun, four out of the five original Spice Girls are set to announce a huge UK tour later today.
Victoria, 44, is said to be sitting out the reunion, having made it clear in the past she will not be rejoining the girlband for concerts.
The Spice Girls are reportedly going to reveal the news of their live shows in a secretly-filmed video which will contain details of their plans.
Tickets are rumoured to be going on sale as soon as this weekend.
A source told the publication: “Girl power is back.
“This is the biggest music comeback of the decade and tickets are expected to sell like hot cakes when they go on sale at the weekend.”
When asked by Express.co.uk, a representative for The Spice Girls declined to comment.
All five Spice Girls were last seen performing together onstage at the closing ceremony of the Olympic in 2012 and their last tour was in 2008.
Geri previously left the band in 1998 in order to pursue a solo career before returning for the reunion tour.
This morning, Emma, 42, teased the big announcement on Heart London Breakfast saying: “It’s exciting.
“Everything will be announced just after three o’clock on social media. You can go to @spicegirls but don’t look at me anymore because I might just blurt it all out,” she added.
