It Takes Two: Dianne Buswell gets emotional over Joe Sugg
Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell, 29, and Emmerdale actor Anthony Quinlan, 34, dated for 10 months, but the pair parted ways this month, it emerged last week.
Discussing their split, Anthony, who plays Pete Barton in the ITV soap, put their relationship struggles down to “long distance” and claimed the duo are still friends.
He told The Sun: “Over the 10 months in which we were dating, it was very up and down.
“It's just the long distance thing was quite taxing for us both. But we are still good friends, you know.
It is taxing when you've got a distance between each other
“And like I said these things happen day to day.”
He added: “It is taxing when you've got a distance between each other. When we were together we had a great time.”
The publication previously reported Anthony grew suspicious over Dianne’s close bond with YouTube star Joe Sugg, 27.
But the actor seemingly denied this as he said he is “rooting” for the pair to win the BBC show.
He continued: “People are always going to speculate. That's certainly out of my hands.
“There's nothing I can do about that.
“I actually saw the show last night [Sunday] and yeah the dance was incredible.”
The actor added he was “on the market” and is seeing what happens.
Last week, a spokesman for Dianne told The Mirror: “Due to their busy schedules and distance they have split, but still remain really close friends.”
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Dianne Buswell for a comment.
Meanwhile, Dianne and Joe have been stealing the show with their impressive routines.
Last weekend, they danced the Waltz to The Rainbow Connection by Sleeping At Last.
The dancing duo earned themselves 29 points out of 40 by the four judges.
Darcey Bussell told them: "You are actually leading your lady, and that's exactly what you want to see a gentleman do.
“I was really impressed, you're becoming a real ballroom gentleman."
Craig Revel Horwood added: “The movement around the floor was absolutely gorgeous, but I have to say a log had more expression. Technically you're improving, you're one to watch."
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.50pm on BBC One.
