If your idea of a dream holiday involves plenty of sunshine, white sand beaches with crystal-clear waters, historic landmarks and breathtaking scenery, then you're going to want to add Türkiye to your travel plans immediately.

Whether it's an epic coastal hike, a lazy day on the beach, or exploring charming villages and towns nestled in the lush green countryside, there's something for everyone. It's the perfect destination for seeing both the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea with their azure waters and beautiful shores.

There's so much to see and do, but we've teamed up with Go Türkiye and picked out a handful of incredible locations that offer just a taste of what this sun-soaked destination has to offer....

Antalya

For those who love a bit of adventure, Antalya (known as the Turkish Riviera) ticks all of the boxes. It has beautiful beaches lined with modern and traditional resorts, ancient cities nestled among dense forests, and the epic Lycian Way, Türkiye’s first long-distance hiking trail spanning the Teke Peninsula offers everything from unspoilt views of the rugged mountains and ocean, to hidden gems including rock-cut tombs that date back up to 2,500 years.

The province is also home to the city of Antalya, where you'll find a plethora of hotels, bars and restaurants all a stone's throw away from the soft sand beaches and historic landmarks.

Bodrum

Bodrum is already a firm favourite with UK holidaymakers thanks to its vibrant nightlife, ancient sites, crystalline waters, and charming towns and villages that make up the landscape. It is also one of Turkey's culinary capitals, home to several Michelin-starred restaurants, including Kitchen at The Bodrum EDITION and Maçakızı.

Sitting on a peninsula located in the southwest Aegean Region in the province of Muğla, it's also a popular cruise destination with tourists drawn to the eye-catching landmarks and golden beaches. Fun fact: in antiquity, Bodrum was called Halicarnassus. Halicarnassus was especially famous for housing the Tomb of Mausolus (from where we get the word Mausoleum), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Marmaris

It'd be easy to think you've stepped into a real-life storybook when exploring the region of Marmaris. Think heaps of sunshine, lush green forests, turquoise ocean waters, and a landscape that lends itself well to sports; it's no wonder that visitors from all over the world flock to this beautiful destination in the summer. Tipped as a destination where "modern culture meets ancient civilizations", it's a destination for those who want plenty of time to relax on their holiday, but also like to spend a few days on the itinerary exploring an area's natural beauty and rich history.

Fethiye

The popular resort of Fethiye, a little less than 100 miles southeast of Marmaris, sits beside a beautiful island-strewn bay and is known for its lively marina and excellent swimming spots. Nearby Ölüdeniz is famous for its white sand beaches, turquoise waters and iconic lagoon, which can also be admired from above while paragliding. Butterfly Valley lies below the slopes of Babadağ and features a wide sandy beach, dramatic canyon walls, flowing waterfalls and a freshwater creek running through the valley to the sea.

Alanya

The popular resort of Alanya sits on a rocky promontory between two long sandy beaches, backed by the Taurus Mountains and rich in history from Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman rule. Its Mediterranean climate, natural scenery and heritage make it a lively destination, with warm-weather sporting events and cultural festivals held each year. Cleopatra Beach, a free-to-access stretch of golden sand over a mile long, is named after the Egyptian queen and offers clear blue waters alongside sunbed and parasol rentals.
