5. Porto, Portugal

Thankfully, Porto isn't too far to travel to from the UK and you can expect good weather all year round.

While many flock to the Algarve or Lisbon, Porto is often overlooked. Porto, which is located in the northern part of the country has built a reputation as one of the most underrated cities in Europe.

The city is known for its Baroque and Neoclassical architectural styles, making the area a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.

You can expect plenty of history and culture in the city too with Porto Cathedral and Palacio da Bolsa being top attractions to visit.

4. Athens, Greece

When you think of the Greek capital you think of warm weather and the Acropolis.

While there are plenty of islands to visit including Crete and Santorini, Athens shouldn't be forgotten.

As one of the oldest cities in the world, it is no wonder many of us flock there as a holiday destination.

Famous historical landmarks such as the Parthenon and Temple of Zeus are great to explore.

However, if you're looking to explore more of Greece then you'll find many Mediterranean cruises also stop off at other Greek Islands.

3. Reykjavik, Iceland

No travel list would be complete without Reykjavik and its natural wonders.

Coolcationing is a travel trend to look out for. This is where you go on holiday but in a cooler climate, so, if this is something that you're after then Iceland is the place for you.

The country is one of the best places to see the beauty of the northern lights and active volcanoes which have erupted numerous times in the past few months.

There's also Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Skogafoss Waterfall and Snaefellsjökull National Park.
