American Airlines passenger requests lobster roll on a flight – gets THIS instead
A SHOCKED passenger travelling with American Airlines was given this surprising meal after requesting a lobster roll.
A passenger on an American Airlines flight ordered a lobster roll, yet received this instead
Inflight meals are rarely up to scratch when it comes to fine dining.
Another passenger - this time flying on American Airlines - requested his in–flight meal ahead of time and ordered a lobster roll.
What he received instead definitely wasn’t what he expected.
American travel blogger Ben Schlapping was travelling from LA to New York with American Airlines when he made the request.
Asking for a lobster roll with sweet potato chips, he initially thought it sounded like a delicious food choice.
What he received instead was an ominous looking piece of bread with some orange mush on top.
The sweet potato fries that were meant to be accompanying it was instead some form of thick, orange sauce.
The inflight meal ordered on the American Airlines flight ended up looking like this
It sort of tasted like they took soggy pieces of bread and then spread butter with tiny particles of lobster
He wrote on his website One Mile at a Time: “Not that it’s the flight attendant’s fault, but she didn’t seem to have the slightest clue as to how that might be disappointing.
"It sort of tasted like they took soggy pieces of bread and then spread butter with tiny particles of lobster on it."
Surprisingly, he was then told he received a much higher class of food than he had requested.
He stated: “When the flight attendant collected the dish I asked ‘is this the normal lobster roll?’”
The flight attendant then replied: “You got lucky, we ran out of the business class ones, so that’s the first class lobster roll.”
Will McDonald's meals be served onboard flights soon?
The travel blogger from One Mile at a Time was told that the meal given was the wrong one
However, in light of the story, American Airlines then issued a comment to the New York Post regarding the incident.
The traveller was told that he did, in fact, receive the wrong meal entirely.
It stated: “During his flight, he was served the lobster grilled cheese with tomato soup instead of the lobster roll.
“The meal he was served is not up to our standards and we have shared his feedback with our teams for review.”
