Spaceship meets speed boat: Jet-powered super capsule fit for a 007 agent
THE JET CAPSULE is a futuristic boat and the perfect getaway vehicle for a James Bond film.
Take a look inside the incredible Jet Capsule mini yacht
Made almost entirely of fibreglass, the speedy yacht costs £145,000.
The Jet Capsule is powered by a whopping 740bhp diesel engine, which alone is worth £50,000.
It’s also propelled along by a water jet, which sees it reach speeds of up to 70 knots (81mph).
The impressive water vehicle measures 25ft in length and 13-ft-wide.
Mini yacht is just as luxurious super yacht
It can fit up to 13 passengers and is fully customisable, according to its Italian designers.
The water jets can be used for flyboarding - a water sport involving specially made boots and serious air time for the rider.
Among the yacht options to choose from are an armoured capsule - most suitable for any self-respecting 007 agent with its bulletproof casing.
There’s also an all-electric option and private jet-style boat.
The cabin can be fitted out with a kitchenette, bed and bathroom if desired.
The mini-yacht is 25 feet long and 11 feet wide
The inside features a sleek design that can fit eight passengers
Co-founder Pierpaolo Lazzarini used spaceships as his creation inspiration.
He said: “I wanted to create a boat that, despite being not very big, caught people’s eye because of its style.
“When you arrive at the beach in the Jet Capsule everyone is standing up and taking pictures.
“It’s such a compact yet luxurious yacht – small enough to minimise high maintenance costs but large enough to carry a group of friends, who can sleep aboard in comfort.”
The yacht also has neon lighting to set the party mood
All boats are made to order in Naples, each taking six months to build.
Mr Lazzarini said: “We work very closely with the customers to make sure their most detailed requests are met.”
His next goal is to see a Jet Capsule cruising down the River Thames.
But so far only five boats have been sold - two to Russia, two to China and one to Spain.
A much larger yacht recently turned heads as it moored next to Tower Bridge on the River Thames.
Motor Yacht A is a £225m superyacht owned by Russian ‘King of Bling’ Andrey Melnuchenko.
