The new airport is set to break records, and designers want it to become a satellite town.
Split into two parts, and inspired by the amazing video showcases the airports origin, revealing the unlikely location.
Because the airport is being built in the city of Chengdu, in China’s Sichuan province.
But don’t get too excited, as the ambitious project won’t be fully completed until 2045.

Alongside the incredible design — inspired by the Golden Sun Bird, the symbol of Chengdu — the airport designers are keen to ensure that sustainability is a major focus, incorporating rainwater recycling.
Chengdu Tianfu airport is based around 30 miles of the city centre, and will be connected to several cities via high speed passenger trains.
And future plans may even include an underground, with both fast and slow trains taking people from the airport directly in the city centre.
Tianfu airport will be so big that it will be known as an ‘airport city’ and in the future, could even become a satellite town.

More than 54 million passengers pass through Changi Airport each year and it plays a very decent host.
In fact, it’s been voted the best airport in the world for the last four years.
