From the fjords of Norway to the pristine beaches of Mauritius there is plenty to choose from when it comes to a well-deserved breakin the world's most beautiful places. However, if it’s holidaying by the coast you’re looking for, there is no better place to go to than the country with the world’s longest coastline. What helps as well is the fact that this nation is truly beautiful and has plenty to offer.

Canada has the longest coastline of any country in the world, stretching over 125,567 miles (202,000km). It is surrounded by three oceans - the Atlantic to the east, the Pacific to the west, and the Arctic to the north. According to Statista and World Atlas, no other country comes close to Canada’s shoreline, which runs through 10 provinces and three territories.

From remote Arctic communities to surf-friendly beaches, the coastlines vary dramatically depending on where you go.

Visitors can explore everything from the forest-covered mountains of British Columbia and the cliffs of Newfoundland and Labrador, to the sandy shores of Nova Scotia and the wildlife-rich waters of the Northwest Territories.

In the northernmost territory of Nunavut, tourists can experience the traditional Inuit way of life through dog sledding, local crafts and Arctic wildlife, while in Yukon, travellers can paddle the rivers once used during the gold rush and camp under the midnight sun.

New Brunswick is home to the famous Bay of Fundy, known for having the world’s highest tides, while Québec has a mix of European-style charm and natural beauty along the St. Lawrence River.

Each region offers something different from outdoor adventures, wildlife spotting to gorgeous and busy cities - not to mention endless opportunities to enjoy the fresh sea air.

According to Visit Canada, the country is a “wild wonderland of inspiring scenery and experiences” from coast to coast to coast.

UK visitors will need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) to enter the country.
