Nottingham holds many hidden treasures worth a visit from Robin Hood history to independent cafes, there’s something for everyone.

Often overlooked due to it being some 80 miles and two hours from the nearest seaside town Skegness, the Midlands city has a vibrant nightlife, excellent shopping options as well as art and nature spots.

The River Trent is the third longest river in England and is a great walking spot not far from the city centre. The Trent Embankment is just 15 minutes walk from the city and you can begin your walk around the river here. The Embankment pub is a great spot for a riverside lunch or drink on your way back.

Another "must visit place" is Wollaton Hall and Park. The famous hall makes an appearance in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises as Wayne Manor. In the park, you’ll find deer roaming freely and in summer there are often open theatre events which take place in the grounds.
