The sea travel company Condor Ferries has shared the top staycation destinations for tourists who want a peaceful beach holiday.

With the cost-of-living crisis causing more tourists to cut back on holiday plans, many Brits are looking for enjoyable destinations within the country.

According to the company, the best beach in the UK is Plémont Beach in Jersey. Whilst not on the mainland, Condor Ferries suggested that it is the ideal spot for tourists who enjoy taking photos during their time away.

Like many beaches found within the Channel Islands, Plémont is surrounded by jagged rocks and isolated formations found throughout the sandy beach.

The beach also has plenty of history, being a popular holiday destination for wealthy tourists during the Victorian and Edwardian eras.

Condor Ferries also noted that tourists looking to enjoy a relaxing beach break consider visiting Fermain Bay in St Martin's, Guernsey.

Whilst most tourists prefer sandy beaches that are generally easier to walk or lie down on, Fermain's pebbly surface gives it an incredibly distinctive appearance.

Nevertheless, tourists interested in visiting Fermain Bay should arrive early and be considerate to locals, with parking in the area being very limited.

Finally, another widely-respected beach destination in the Channel Islands that was recommended by Condor Ferries is Bouley Bay in Jersey.

Compared to other destinations suggested by the company, Bouley feels much smaller, particularly due to the 400ft cliffs that surround it.

In addition to soaking up the sun and going for a paddle, visitors to Bouley Bay can go rock pooling or search along the coast for puffins or dolphins.

Top five beaches recommended by Condor Ferries:

  1. Plémont Beach - Jersey
  2. Fermain Bay - St Martin's, Guernsey
  3. Bouley Bay - Jersey
  4. Cobo Bay - Castel, Guernsey
  5. Saints Bay - St Martin's, Guernsey
