A flight attendant has lifted the lid on the intense training they undergo, revealing the job is not all about serving drinks and snacks with a smile.

Most travellers are familiar with the sight of cabin crew members greeting passengers as they board the plane, helping them find their seats and ensuring everyone is ready for take-off. But according to TikTok user MrsMiva, who works as a flight attendant, there's much more to the job than meets the eye.

In a revealing video, she shared some of the rigorous training exercises they have to complete. While many might think their duties are limited to making announcements, pushing the snack trolley down the aisle and demonstrating safety procedures, the reality is far more complex.

The clip, which reportedly features footage from a training session, shows the crew practising how to handle a fire on-board. The simulated plane fills with smoke as they learn how to guide passengers to safety.

But that's not all - they also have to master how to evacuate a plane and hundreds of passengers within 90 seconds, all while remaining calm and professional.

In the footage, she reveals the cabin crew team is trained to handle safety and emergency equipment on-board, ensuring they are always up-to-date with the latest procedures. MrsMiva explains they are equipped with first aid knowledge and can identify if passengers are unwell.

Concluding her video, she appeals to viewers to "be nice" to the crew, highlighting their dedication to passenger safety. Flight attendants, she points out, do much more than just serve meals and "look pretty".

The video has been an eye-opener for many, as it sheds light on the extensive responsibilities of flight attendants. Social media users have praised the video as "really informative", appreciating the glimpse into the demanding nature of the job.

One commenter expressed: "Great video and quite instructive. We work hard and we have to stay alert in the event of any type of emergency. Thank you so much for this."

Another responded: "Smoke on a plane must be sheer hell - lucky for us we have trained and professional staff like you." Meanwhile, a third shared: "My dream job."

Others also voiced their aspirations to join the profession, with one saying: "Hope very soon we can become colleagues."

Earlier in the month, MrsMiva disclosed another industry secret regarding why flight attendants greet passengers aboard, revealing it's not just about politeness.

In a viral clip, the flight attendant revealed: "Did you know that your flight attendant greets you not only out of politeness, but also to check whether you are too drunk or sick to fly?"

The revelation has taken social media by storm, amassing over a million likes and leaving thousands utterly astonished. It turns out passengers are subtly scrutinised as they board their flights - a crafty move indeed!

One flabbergasted user commented: "Wait, is there a reason why they always ask me where I sit when I go onboard?" Another chimed in with insight: "To see if you're 1. Safe to fly (not intoxicated) and to see if you could help in an emergency."
