Airport lounge memberships give 'additional perks' but are not ideal for all, expert warns
Tourists have been offered a number of tips that can help them get the best experience from the airport lounge ahead of their holiday.
A popular travel blog has offered advice that could help tourists get the most of their time in the airport lounge before their flight.
Whilst they often cost additional money to enter, lounges allow tourists to relax in a more comfortable seat and get a meal at no extra charge.
To help tourists make the most of their time in the airport lounge, Kitty Holland from PassingThru.com noted that frequent flyers should check if they would be better off buying a membership.
She explained: "Traveling can often be a hectic experience, but airport lounges offer a sanctuary of comfort. When considering lounge access, it's essential to understand the differences between membership programs and one-time entry options.
"Frequent travelers might find value in membership programs offered by airlines or independent companies, providing access to a network of lounges worldwide. These programs often include additional perks like priority boarding and extra baggage allowance."
In addition, PassingThru.com suggested that travellers can sometimes get free access to airport lounges through their credit card provider.
Companies such as American Express Platinum and Chase Sapphire Reserve often give owners a membership to organisations including Priority Pass, meaning frequent fliers can take advantage of more than 1,300 lounges across the globe.
Nevertheless, the blog warned that the additional bonus should not persuade tourists who do not fly frequently to spend extra on their card.

Tourists who have a choice of lounges to access were also advised by PassingThru.com to weigh up which is the best for them, with different places offering unique benefits.
Whilst almost all airport lounges offer perks, including free food and faster wi-fi, some of the more business-focused versions give passengers private spaces and meeting rooms to help aid productivity.
Nevertheless, some airports also feature family-focused lounges which include places dedicated for children to play and private sleeping areas.
Finally, Kitty highlighted that it could pay for flight passengers wishing to use a lounge to arrive to the airport early, giving them a better opportunity to access all the facilities it has to offer.
She continued: "Navigated overcrowded lounges requires strategic planning. To avoid the busiest times, aim to visit lounges during off-peak hours. Early mornings, late evenings, or midday periods often see fewer travellers, providing a more tranquil lounge experience.
"This approach ensures you enjoy the full range of amenities the lounge offers, from comfortable seating to dining options, without the inconvenience of overcrowding. Staying informed about peak travel times at your particular airport can aid in scheduling your lounge visits more effectively."
