Tourists can save 17 percent on plane tickets by flying on three quiet days of the week
A flight expert has taken to TikTok to highlight a way that tourists are able to get their plane tickets for hundreds less than they thought.
A travel expert has shared a tip that can help tourists cut the cost of their next holiday when booking their flight, and it takes seconds to do.
The TikTok user @casper.capital regularly posts videos in which he offers money saving tips to viewers on a wide variety of subjects, including holidays.
In a popular video, Casper encourages viewers who are planning to book a flight to try different dates and see how much the cost changes.
He advised: “So, always book your flights for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. These are usually the cheapest days to book your flights.
“But always use incognito when looking for [flight] tickets. Flight booking websites track your activity and if you check certain tickets often, they increase the prices because they know you’re going to buy them.”
In the video, Casper notes that passengers who book flights for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays often pay less because fewer tourists go on holiday on those days.
Whilst the situation may change if the day falls on an important date, the travel company AirAdvisor notes that booking in the middle of the week can lower the cost of flights by up to 17 percent.
However, the TikToker warned that a number of flight booking websites monitor when users are interested in booking a flight to increase the prices, so he encouraged travellers to use an incognito or private browsing mode.

Later in the video, Casper also encouraged younger travellers to check if the flight company has any discounts for students.
He added: “Always check to see which airlines give student discounts. Sometimes these discounts can be 50 percent off the regular price.”
Whilst the flying expert did not specify which airlines offer student discounts, a number of websites such as StudentUniverse feature flight comparison pages that factor them in.
With over 128,000 likes, many viewers found Casper’s advice incredibly useful for booking their next flight and left their thoughts in the comments section.
One viewer wrote: “I have a flight booked on a Saturday and it actually was cheap, it stayed the same price for a week and a half.”
Another suggested: “If you travel alone and you feel the aeroplane seems overbooked, do not choose a seat. There is a chance you could get a Business Class seat.”
