British tourists might love Benidorm but the resort town's popular Playa de Levante landed just outside the top 10 in the latest Tripadvisor ranking.
10. Playa del Duque
Located in southern Tenerife, Playa del Duque's golden sand makes it a popular relaxing spot for families. Surrounded by palm trees, the beach is part of the Costa Adeje resort town. It's a great time to book a holiday to the Canary Islands as they're one of Europe's warmest winter destinations.
9. As Catedrais
Wilder than many of Spain's southern beaches, As Catedrais Beach is on Spain's northwestern coast. The Galician beach is famous for its naturally formed arches and caves. Galicia is a great choice for Brits who want to avoid Spain's searing summer temperatures.
8. Playa de Papagayo
Another Canary Islands beach, Playa de Papagayo is on Lanzarote's southern coast. A white-sand beach, Papagayo is a small cove with great snorkelling. The beach is only accessible via steep stairs so bear that in mind before visiting.
7. Cala Comte
One of Spain's luxury destinations, Ibiza is home to breathtaking beaches. Cala Comte is one of the island's top-rated spots and it's best visited during sunset. The beach is an oasis away from Ibiza's nightlife.
6. Playa de Muro
Playa de Muro is Majorca's largest sand beaches and stretches for nearly six kilometres. The beach's shallow water makes it an ideal day out for families and it holds Blue Flag status.
