WWE news: CM Punk linked with EPIC wrestling return after UFC fight
CM PUNK may be set for an epic return to professional wrestling in September.
CM Punk discusses working on returning to UFC
Rumours suggest the UFC star will make an appearance at All In, an independent wrestling super show presented by The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes, which will be staged on September 1 in Punk’s hometown of Chicago.
The event sold 10,000 tickets almost instantly and, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, it is alleged that the UFC star was backstage during All In’s press conference.
Jenn Sterger, who hosted the conference, told Collider Bodyslam: “If you got your tickets at face value for this event, I’m just saying it literally might be the best in the world.
“I will only say someone wearing sweatpants and training for something walked into the back of the building that the press conference was in — with marks, mind you, lining the entire sidewalks in the front of the building — and I just kept thinking ‘if they knew you were back here, they would literally tear down the front of the store.'
What better way — if you were going to make your return to wrestling — than the biggest indie show ever?
“What better way — if you were going to make your return to wrestling — than the biggest indie show ever?”
Pro Wrestling Tees announced that CM Punk will definitely be making a special meet and greet the day before the show at their Chicago store.
None of the people involved with All In would confirm or deny if he’d be making an appearance at the indy super show.
Punk left WWE in 2014 citing creative differences and health issues.
Since then, The Second City Saint has cut ties with professional wrestling and joined UFC.
The six-time world champion is now focusing on UFC 225 where he will have his second ever fight against Mike Jackson on June 9 in Chicago.
The ex-WWE Champion suffered a miserable debut at UFC 203 against Mickey Gall where he tapped out in the first round.
He is one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the game having beaten some of the biggest legends like John Cena, Undertaker and Daniel Bryan.
The Straightedge Superstar's name still gets chanted in every arena WWE perform at.
