Undertaker WrestleMania retirement update is huge news for WWE fans
WWE are looking to get The Undertaker on the match card of WrestleMania 35 despite rumours he will retire.
According to Cageside Seats, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claim there was a big push to get Undertaker involved in a fight at WrestleMania.
Taker has been wrestling on a part-time basis with Vince McMahon’s promotion in the past few years due to his advanced age of 53 and his long history of injuries.
The Deadman’s most recent bout took place at WWE Crown Jewel last year in Saudi Arabia.
The Phenom reformed The Brothers of Destruction with his scripted sibling Kane and lost to the reunited D-Generation X, consisted of Triple H and the returning Shawn Michaels.
So I think he’s retired as a wrestler
The seven-time world champion’s status has been unknown ever since but he has started to make a series of non-wrestling appearances and will also be part of Starrcast’s convention close to rival promotion All Elite Wrestling’s megashow Double or Nothing.
The publisher and editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer recently claimed that the ex-WWE Champion is not scheduled to be a part of WrestleMania or the next shows in Saudi Arabia.
Meltzer also argued that the former World Heavyweight Champion may have retired as a professional wrestler.
He said: “At least as of a week ago he was not doing either [WrestleMania or Saudi Arabia] and obviously [WWE] can panic and the Saudi Arabia show if the Prince wants him they can offer him so much money to do it, but as of a week ago he was not on either show.
“So I think he’s retired as a wrestler.”
But it seems like Undertaker may have one more big match left in him for the Showcase of the Immortals.
The Houston-native is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time who revolutionised the sport with his dark and sinister gimmick ever since his debut in 1990.
The Demon of Death Valley has beaten some of the all-time greats like Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin and many more throughout his stunning 29-year career.
The Last Outlaw also introduced some of the most brutal match stipulations such as the Hell in a Cell, Casket and Buried Alive Match.
Undertaker has a rich history at WrestleMania as he holds the greatest ever win-loss record of 24-2.
He used to be undefeated for 21 consecutive Mania appearances and has beaten the likes of Michaels, Triple H, John Cena and many more.
