UFC 227: Cody Garbrandt breaks silence after TKO loss to TJ Dillashaw
UFC 227 - CODY GARBRANDT is bitterly disappointed to have missed out on reclaiming the UFC men's bantamweight title.
The Ohio native looked to return to the summit of the bantamweight division this morning in the main event of UFC 227, where he rematched the man who ended his title reign last November, TJ Dillashaw.
However, his bid to become a two-time UFC titleholder ended in heartbreak as he suffered a second consecutive TKO loss to his former Team Alpha Male colleague.
Garbrandt didn't attend the post-fight press conference but reflected on his second career loss in a brief statement on Instagram.
Alongside a picture of himself and his son Kai, 'No Love' wrote: "I am blessed thank you all for the love and support."

Dillashaw, meanwhile, is delighted to have closed the book on his rivalry with Garbrandt, telling UFC commentator Joe Rogan: "It feels good. As always, man.
"Like I said, my bang Muay Thai is tight."
The California native now believes he's the best fighter to ever compete in the 135lbs division, adding: "I am the best bantamweight of all time. That's it.
"The best bantamweight of all time. I'm here, right now."
On the stoppage itself, Dillashaw said: "I expected him to throw more counter right kicks. So I was going to wait.
"I know what I can do with that right hand.
"So I was just going to time and throw my own. And that's what happened."
