UFC: Nate Diaz says he wanted 'more time' in Masvidal fight
Nate Diaz has issued a blunt response to Jorge Masvidal's recent call out. The fan favourites locked horns with one another for the BMF title last November in the main event of UFC 244 in New York.
Masvidal came out of the pair's eagerly-anticipated meeting victorious, registering a third-round TKO victory over the youngest Diaz brother.
The American Top Team standout's victory came courtesy of a doctor stoppage, with the ringside physician deeming the two lacerations Diaz had above and on his right eyelid a serious impediment to his wellbeing.
Despite Masvidal handily winning all three rounds, fans at MSG were left disappointed by the doctor's decision to stop the fight - with many of them calling for the promotion to immediately run it back.
Masvidal insisted he'd be willing to do just that, a notion he reiterated on Twitter this past weekend.

Pull-up then
He tweeted: "Let's run it back #theresurrection #andstill."
It didn't take long for Diaz to get wind of Masvidal's call out, which he responded to with a short and concise tweet.
Diaz replied to the American Top Team star's call out by quote tweeting a tweet he sent out a few days removed from their clash, saying: "Pull-up then."
Never one to allow a rival to one-up him, Masvidal hit back at Diaz in quick fashion.

Alongside a picture of him landing a nasty body kick on Diaz, Masvidal wrote: "Hope you upgraded your abs routine #supernecessary."
Masvidal's decision to pursue a rematch is somewhat perplexing given the fact he's on course to land a crack at welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
Masvidal's proposed clash with 'The Nigerian Nightmare' was slated to headline International Fight Week in July.
The COVID-19 outbreak, however, has seemingly laid waste to that card - which was scheduled for July 11.
Although there are plenty who are eager to see Masvidal vs Diaz II, the same can't be said for UFC president Dana White.
"That doesn't interest me right away," White said when asked if he'd be interested in booking a rematch.
"I think that I got asked a couple questions tonight, Diaz comes on in the later rounds.
"And if this fight had gone on later and they didn't stop, what would have happened or whatever, but it didn't. It got stopped with cuts."
