Express reporter Chisanga Malata has been named as one of the top five black men in UK MMA.
As part of a list to celebrate Black History Month, digital website WhoaTV announced sports reporter Malata alongside an illustrious list of names within the sport - including British UFC legend, Jimi Manuwa.
The judging panel said of Malata: “With little fanfare, bluster or rhetoric Malata has quickly occupied the tabloid space with the utmost integrity and always mindful of the journalist code ‘never become the story’.
“Chisanga is a long-serving member of the Daily Star and Express online sports team.
“His particular expertise is combat sports. He began his career in October 2013 and has covered some of the most prominent fighters and events in mixed martial arts.”
Praising Malata’s work and entry on the list Reach PLC Nationals Head of Digital Sport, Matt Lawless, said: “This is a wonderful achievement and perfect recognition for Chisanga’s MMA reportage.
“Chisanga is at the forefront of regular UFC content online and his passion to cover the sport is reflected in his must-read work.”
