UFC NEWS - Express Sport brings you the latest headlines from the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
UFC News - Conor McGregor update
UFC president Dana White has revealed his proposed Miami meeting with Conor McGregor didn’t come to fruition and he’ll meet now meet ‘The Notorious’ in Los Angeles.
“I was supposed to meet with him down here,” White said of Conor McGregor during the UFC Fight Night 150 post-fight press conference.
“We’re going to meet in LA instead.”
UFC News - Brock Lesnar retires from MMA
Brock Lesnar’s return to the UFC has been cancelled as the former heavyweight champion has hung up his gloves, White has revealed.
Lesnar was due to challenge reigning heavyweight king Daniel Cormier for the 265lbs title later this year.
The fight, however, has failed to come to fruition, which has led 41-year-old Lesnar to call it a day.
He's retired
"He told me he's done. He's retired," White told ESPN.
Lesnar last set foot inside the Octagon in July 2016 at UFC 200, where he recorded a unanimous decision victory over Mark Hunt.
That victory was overturned to a no contest after it emerged he tested positive for Clomiphene before and after the historic card.
Daniel Cormier on course for Stipe Miocic rematch
Lesnar’s retirement has paved the way for a rematch between Cormier and Stipe Miocic.
Cormier prised the heavyweight title from Miocic’s clutches last July at UFC 226 with a first-round knockout victory.
Cormier vs Miocic 2 is expected to headline UFC 241 on August 17.
