Conor McGregor retort defended by Khabib Nurmagomedov’s coach
Javier Mendez has claimed Khabib Nurmagomedov’s response to Conor McGregor’s tweet mocking his wife was completely justified.
“If you strike first blood, what do you expect him to do?” Nurmagomedov's head coach told Express Sport. “To continue to bend over and say, ‘Strike me again and continue to strike me?’ He’s 100 per cent right for what he did. 100 per cent.
“Think about this: How is it fair for someone to make up s**t about you and you can’t retaliate? You’re supposed to be the good guy? Well, how many times can you be the good guy and just take it?”
Conor McGregor called out by Justin Gaethje
Former World Series of Fighting lightweight champion Justin Gaethje has revealed he’d love to fight McGregor in Ireland.
“There are so many [potential] fights right now, but Conor sounds like he’s coming back, so I’m the man,” Gaethje told TMZ.
“If he’s going to fight someone it has to be me.
He’s 100 per cent right for what he did. 100 per cent.
“Tony [Ferguson] is there but he’s gotta go back and get better. That leaves Conor and me.
“It’s the name of the game. I want to fight him in Ireland, though I know it’s not going to happen in Ireland.
“That’s my dream to go over there and be in that sort of chaos.
'That’s what f*****g wakes me up every day.”
