Wimbledon 2018: David Haye reveals his son’s future is in tennis, not boxing
DAVID HAYE might have reached the top in boxing but his son could be destined for a career in tennis.
The former heavyweight and cruiserweight champion – who retired after a defeat to Tony Bellew in May – posted a picture of his son Cassius in action at Wimbledon yesterday.
The youngster was hitting on Court Seven as part of the LTA south east under-10s regional training and looked to have an impressive forehand. Haye’s ex-wife Natasha, Cassius’ mother, was also present to support her son.
Haye, who came to Wimbledon with mother Jane, was later in the Royal Box on Centre Court along with a host of other sporting stars.
Veteran commentator Barry Davies, who at 80 is calling his last championships for the BBC this year, received a warm reception.
However, there no provision was due to be made within the hospitality areas for the special guests to watch England’s World Cup quarter-final against Sweden.
Carl Froch wrote on Twitter: “Looking forward to the Tennis, but where’s the TV! ”
Sir Mo Farah had been due in the Royal Box but was absent for personal reasons, a tournament spokeswoman said.
