Zverev came through his three-set tussle with Jan-Lennard Struff to set up a possible quarter-final clash with his brother Mischa.
"Hopefully my brother will win and it will be an amazing day tomorrow," said the younger Zverev.
However, Zverev’s path to the quarters wasn’t plain sailing.
The 20-year-old took the first set 6-4, however both players struggled to serve in the second 4-6.

Zverev’s frustration got the better of him as he lost the second set.
The young German threw away an advertising cushion at one point claiming they were too dangerous on court.
It comes just a matter of days after Thanasi Kokkinakis broke his kneecap after falling on the cushion on Sunday.
Zverev then got into an argument with umpire after he was told he couldn't move the cushion
The Australian has since been seen in a cast after the incident and Sky Sports pundit Henric Leconte believes deep baseline shots are the cause of the problem.
“They are playing so far back now they could soon be playing in the ocean,” he said.
“Since now most of the players return so far back, that’s why it is complicated for all the sponsor things.
“They have to get it away.”
