Katie Swan exits Wimbledon girls singles after straight sets defeat
BRITAIN’S bright young tennis hope for the future Katie Swan bowed out of the junior Wimbledon quarter-finals after wilting in the second set against wild card Viktoria Kuzmona.
Katie Swan was unable to cope with Viktoria Kuzmona
Swan, 16, briefly traded breaks of serve in the first set of her game against the Slovakian girl, who is a year older than her.
But once the pair reached the tie-break, the match became completely one-sided as the greater power of the Eastern European really began to show.
Kuzmova closed out the tie-break comprehensively with a 7-1 win which proved a devastating blow for the girl from Bristol, who failed to win another game in a disappointing 7-6, 6-0.
