Andy Murray: That was the best reception I've ever had on Centre Court
ANDY MURRAY has heaped praise on the British tennis fans, claiming the reception he received on Centre Court was the best he ever had.
The Scot was greeted with a deafening the roar when he stepped onto court as the defending Wimbledon champion.
Murray who became the first British male since Fred Perry to lift the Wimbledon title last summer, admitted the rapturuous reception he received was pretty special.
"Yesterday I was pretty nervous, more so than today," Murray said.
"But when I walked onto court, all the memories came flooding back and when I sat down I was calm.

"When I got that early break, I settled down and I hit the ball well and hit it cleanly."
Murray however doesn't feel the hopes of the nation are on his shoulders following England's elimination from the World Cup.
"I just go onto the court and do my thing," Murray added.
