Andy Murray: Why friends call me Bamm-Bamm
TENNIS ACE Andy Murray was such a bad loser as a youngster he was nicknamed Bamm-Bamm, after the super-strong baby in the Flintstones, because they both had a tendency to bash things.
His fiery side is still evident on court but he is working hard to shake off his grumpy image, says a new documentary, The Man Behind The Racquet, to be shown on BBC One tonight at 10.25pm.
Arch-rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer also shed light on the character who won Britain over by bursting into tears following last year’s Grand Slam final.
