Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa discuss marriage as tennis power couple open up
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have been going strong for two years.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have been in a relationship for two years. The tennis power couple hit it off after the 2023 Italian Open, when Tsitsipas slid into his now-girlfriend’s DMs to congratulate her on a big win over Ons Jabeur. The rest, as they say, is history.
The Greek star and the WTA world No. 10 made things official when they changed their Spotify profile photos to couple selfies and created a joint playlist. Now, two years down the line, they’ve discussed the next step, getting married.
While there’s no denying that Tsitsipas and Badosa, also known as ‘Tsitsidosa’, have a strong connection, they want marriage to come naturally.
“It is the greatest love I have felt in my 26 years of life,” Tsitsipas said during their joint interview with DownTown.
“For me, marriage in such situations comes with great normality and without pressure about when and how.”
Badosa added: “Marriage is a union of souls. If it comes at some point, it will come naturally. It is not something that pressures us. Love, connection, everyday life come first.”

It’s not the first time they’ve discussed marriage - they also recently joked about having a Greek wedding while walking the red carpet at the Laureus Awards.
The ATP ace and the Spaniard are one of several couples on the tennis circuit. They’ve often been seen cheering each other on in matches and have even teamed up for mixed doubles at Grand Slams and exhibition events.
But they prefer spending time together away from the pro circuit. “When you leave the noise of sports and are just human with each other, everything takes on a different meaning,” Tsitsipas said.
“Our greatest moments are definitely when we are off tour. Without pressure, expectations, and people.
“That's where we have noticed that our relationship takes on another dimension, a more peaceful and human form with which we both feel that we are living the best version of ourselves.”
Right now, however, their focus is on tennis. Badosa is back in action after spending weeks sidelined by a back injury.
She retired from the Merida Open in early March and returned prematurely in Miami, winning two matches before withdrawing from the tournament.
Almost a month later, the world No. 10 got back on court in Strasbourg on Tuesday and advanced through her opening match when Marie Bouzkova retired at 3-3 in the first set.
Meanwhile, Tsitsipas is already focusing on the French Open after withdrawing from this week’s ATP 250 event in Geneva.
