Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz 'still lives above kebab shop with mum and dad'
Carlos Alcaraz is yet to splurge his vast professional tennis winnings, which were boosted by victory at Wimbledon on Sunday.
Tennis fans react to Carlos Alcaraz's Wimbledon win
Carlos Alcaraz has just picked up a cool £2.35million for beating Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final, but the youngster will head back to relatively humble surroundings. Despite having two Grand Slam titles already in the bank, Alcaraz reportedly spends time resting at his parent's apartment between tournaments.
Tennis fans held out hope that Alcaraz would make a splash in south-west London, having arrived at the All England Club as the world No 1. Djokovic was always going to be difficult to unseat, however, after going unbeaten on Centre Court for over a decade.
A stellar performance from the Spaniard saw him battle to a classic five-set victory, earning him seven figures in prize money and a coveted Wimbledon title to add to his US Open triumph in 2022.
But Alcaraz is keeping his feet firmly on the ground. According to The Sun, the 20-year-old lives at his parents' apartment in Murcia, Spain, when he's not away competing at tournaments.
The humble abode, thought to be worth £170,000, is owned by Alcaraz's parents and situated above a kebab shop named 'Turquesa Kebab & Pizza', where visitors can pick up a hearty meal for the equivalent of less than £4.
Situated over two floors, the modest Alcaraz household contains much of the Wimbledon champion's sponsorship gear, having struck endorsement deals with the likes of Louis Vuitton and Calvin Klein.

Alcaraz's total net worth is believed to be around £18m, and there should be plenty more cash in the pipeline as he continues to impress on the biggest stages. In beating Djokovic, he became the youngest Wimbledon winner since Boris Becker in 1986.
When visiting the apartment in El Palmar, Murcia, a short drive from an area considered a 'no-go' for tourists, Alcaraz supposedly stays in one of the four downstairs bedrooms.
The youngster is believed to have funded a recent refurbishment of the flat to help out his father, a former professional tennis player also called Carlos, and his mother Virginia.
Alcaraz is reportedly saving up to build two luxury villas on a nearby residential estate, with one set to go to his parents and the other for himself to rest and recuperate while he is out of action.
