Feliciano Lopez through to Queen's Club final with Felix Auger-Aliassime win
FELICIANO LOPEZ has booked a Queen's Club final showdown with Gilles Simon after coming from behind to knock out rising young star Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Lopez, who could be made to play three matches in a row as he partners Andy Murray in the doubles this evening, came from behind to win 6-7, 6-3, 6-4.
The Spaniard won the Queen's title two years ago and he will get another shot to regain his crowd when he takes on Frenchman Simon.
Auger-Aliassime, 18, has been in top form this week knocking out stars such as Grigor Dimitrov, Nick Kyrgios and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
But the experienced Lopez proved a step too far and he will definitely return on Sunday.
"I think it's a great win for me today," Lopez said.
"Feli is a tough opponent and has been serving unbelievably throughout the entire match.
"I cannot believe that I am here in the final again. I feel so happy I cannot believe I am here.
"It's crazy how the old guys can still perform.
"It's pretty amazing and I feel very lucky to still be competitive at this stage of my career.
"I could never imagine I could reach the Finals at Queen's at 37 years old."
Lopez will have a 10 minute break and then return to action to complete his doubles quarter-final clash against Dan Evans and Ken Skupski.
Murray and Lopez are 6-4, 4-5 up and if they win then they will have to remain on Centre Court to play their semi-final straight afterwards.
