Italian Open order of play: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic eye semi spot
ITALIAN OPEN schedule: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic all in action on quarter-final day.
Federer, Nadal and Djokovic were all forced to play two matches in a matter of hours yesterday.
Nadal and Djokovic rushed through both of their ties to move into the last eight with little effort.
In contrast, Federer needed to save two match points to edge past Borna Coric in his evening match.
The Swiss star’s path will get no easier as he takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas next.
Victory could set up a potential showdown with Nadal, if the Spaniard gets the better of Fernando Verdasco.
The popcorn match of the day comes tonight, when world No 1 Djokovic faces Juan Martin del Potro.
Del Potro has only just returned from injury this week but he has four previous victories over the Serbian.
Kei Nishikori vs Diego Schwartzman completes the ATP quarter-final matches.
