Roger Federer: Radu Albot makes Miami Open admission ahead of second-round clash
RADU ALBOT has explained why it will be more difficult than usual to face Roger Federer this evening.
Albot takes on Federer in the second round of the Miami Open after knocking Matthew Ebden out in the opening stage.
The pair will come to blows for the first time at 8pm (GMT) on centre court at the new Hard Rock Stadium.
Federer will be looking to bounce back from his Indian Wells final defeat to Dominic Thiem last weekend.
The Swiss star is in decent form having picked up his 100th career ATP title in Dubai earlier this month.
And Albot thinks the form of his upcoming opponent will make him a difficult proposition.
“The next match here in Miami I will play against Roger so I will say it’s a little bit challenging,” Albot said.
“I will be playing against the best player in the world and a name like that.
“We will see how it’s going.
“We know he is on a very good run coming here from Dubai and Indian Wells.
“We will see how the match will be there.”
World No 46 Albot is in good form himself having recently won the Challenger tournament in Delray Beach.
And now he is trying to find a way to beat the world No 5 in Miami.
“Everything it perfect when you win of course,” Albot added.
“This year so far I have won a tournament in Delray Beach and had a pretty good run at Indian Wells.
“I have to say it’s a good run for me so far.”
