John McEnroe saw Rafael Nadal NAKED at Australian Open - and here is what he thought
JOHN MCENROE revealed he bumped into a naked Rafael Nadal midway through the Spaniard’s clash with Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Australian Open: McEnroe tells Nadal he saw him NAKED
Nadal beat Tsitsipas 6-2, 6-4, 6-0 to reach the Australian Open final this morning.
However, the world No 2 took a toilet break following the conclusion of the second set.
During that brief time away from the court, he crossed paths with seven-time Grand Slam winner McEnroe.
And the American told the story while conducting his on-court interview with Nadal.
“I am going to make a couple of people jealous here,” McEnroe began.
“At the end of the second set I had to take a quick bathroom break.
“I was finishing taking this very quick bathroom break when all of a sudden I walked out and I saw a naked Rafael Nadal in the bathroom.”
Nadal was inquisitive of how McEnroe perceived his physique.
“What is your impression?” he asked.
To which McEnroe replied: “I thought to myself, that looks a lot like my body.
“Absolutely lying about that. I said to myself I wish I had a body like that.”
Presumably, Nadal was changing his sweat-ridden clothes to a drier pair when he saw McEnroe, which is a common practice in the Melbourne heat.
And to combat the soaring temperatures the 32-year-old also donned a sleeveless t-shirt.
“The real thing is I have a small issue when I am playing in warm conditions,” Nadal said.
“When I hit the forehand I hit with the grip on the right hand so I prefer the sleeveless.
“It also makes me feel younger again.”
