Novak Djokovic: World No 1 earned $2176 for EVERY point he won in 2018 - huge sum revealed
NOVAK DJOKOVIC landed a staggering $2176 for every point he won during this year’s ATP Tour.
The Serbian won a monumental tally of 5796 points throughout the course of 2018.
Djokovic started the season slowly after returning from a persistent elbow injury that saw him drop to 22nd in the world rankings.
But a strong second half of the campaign ensured the 31-year-old soared back to the top of the world rankings.
He won Wimbledon, the Cincinnati Masters, the US Open and the Shanghai Masters in a stunning four-month stretch.
The ATP have released their end of season statistics which bode very well for Djokovic.
He pocketed a staggering $12,609,672 in prize money, boasting a win percentage of 54.5%.
The 14-time Grand Slam champion played 10628 points winning 5796 of them, worth $2176 each time.
As for Djokovic's rival Roger Federer, he earned $7,599,233 in prize money which when broken down amasses to $1491 a point.
He won 5097 of the 9377 points he faced and had a win percentage of 54.4% which was the third highest of the tour.
The Swiss star will have to wait until next season to earn another shot at winning his 100th ATP title.
The 37-year-old won the Swiss Indoors but fell short at landing a century of victories at the Paris Masters and ATP World Tour finals.
Despite finishing second in the world rankings, Nadal’s win percentage was the best of the bunch with 55.4%.
The Spaniard won the French Open as well as the Monte-Carlo Masters, Barcelona Open, Italian Open and Canadian Open but was forced to withdraw from the Paris Masters and ATP World Tour finals.
