Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic discover ATP Finals groups - draw in full
ROGER FEDERER and Novak Djokovic have discovered their opponents as the ATP Finals groups have been drawn.
Djokovic and Federer are the top two seeds at the tournament, which commences on Sunday, so have been kept apart in the group stages.
Djokovic has been handed arguably the most difficult group as he is paired with Alexander Zverev, Marin Cilic and John Isner.
Cilic beat Djokovic in the Queen’s final earlier this season while also running him close in the Paris Masters quarter-finals last week.
Meanwhile, Federer must battle Kevin Anderson, Dominic Thiem and Kei Nishikori.
Anderson will no doubt be the Swiss star’s most fiercest rival for a spot in the semi-finals after knocking him out of Wimbledon in the quarter-finals.
Federer is expected to open his campaign against Nishikori, whom he has beaten in all of their last six meetings.
The 37-year-old can leapfrog Rafael Nadal, who pulled out of the tournament through injury, into the world No 2 spot with success in London.
But to do so Federer must win every group match and lift the 100th title of his career.
