Roger Federer claim made by Sky Sports commentator during Swiss Indoors final
SKY SPORTS commentator Barry Cowan claims Roger Federer has one of the best serves in tennis history.
Federer, 37, was broke for the 10th match in a row during the Swiss Indoors final with world No.93 Marius Copil.
It's his worst streak of being broken since 2007, during which he lost serve in 13 consecutive matches.
But Cowan is still full of admiration for the part of Federer's game that sometimes goes unnoticed.
"It's one of the game's great serves - it's right up there," he said.
"The consistency is so good and it is so hard to read as it's the same ball toss. He can hit any serve.
"Pete Sampras had an incredible back-turn which added to the disguise, very much like Federer.
"You know the great servers as they always serve amazingly well no matter what the conditions
"Federer has always done that, Sampras has."
Federer is third on the all-time list of players with the most aces behind Ivo Karlovic and John Isner.
