Roger Federer criticised for on-court actions: ‘He acts like a woman’
ROGER FEDERER “acts like a woman” on court so much that he does not even spit, says former world No 1 Marcelo Rios.
Djokovic says playing with Federer has been a ‘tennis dream’
Federer helped a star-studded Team Europe defend their Laver Cup crown at the weekend under the watchful eye of the entire world.
Rios was one of the millions tuning in to tennis’ newest exhibition tournaments which is only two years old.
However, the 42-year-old has one grip with Federer and that come with his on-court actions, which many consider to be the extremely gracious.
“Tennis has become very boring,” Rois told Chilean newspaper La Tercera.
“If it's Federer with [Rafael] Nadal, I'm motivated and I see it.
“I love Federer, I think he's the best in history. He is a gentleman.
“It's a hole in the crack, but I find off the court your life must be different.
“On the court, he's like a women, he does not make any mistakes, doesn’t even spit.”
Rois enjoyed watching the Laver Cup although he was sceptical of the attitude of some of the players.
“I saw it. I find it super entertaining. It strikes me why they put so much effort. I do not know why,” he added.
“Is it a team issue? Is there a lot of money involved? Federer had never seen him like this before.
“[Alexander] Zverev looked like he had won five Wimbledons. The guys are pre-eminent. Maybe, it's a proud thing.”

And there was one player who Rois took a significant dislike to.
“The one that bothers me a lot, yes, it's Jack Sock,” he said.
“I do not know him, but he is a clown that bothers me to see him.”
