Castleford 14 - Warrington 30: Joel Monaghan the difference as Wolves cruise through
JOEL MONAGHAN scored two tries as Warrington Wolves knocked out Castleford 30-14 in the play-offs.
Australian Monaghan, the top scorer in the competition, scored a try in each half to put Wolves 80 minutes away from the Grand Final.
Ryan Atkins capitalised on a charged down kick to put Wolves ahead with a try but Jamie Ellis levelled the scores when he followed up his own kick ahead.
Monaghan collected Chris Bridge’s pass and went over to make it 10-4 before half-time.
Luke Dorn raced away to score for Tigers but Gareth O’Brien, Rhys Evans and Monaghan went over in a 10-minute spell to send Wolves clear before Michael Shenton’s late consolation score for Castleford.
