DYLAN HARTLEY has emerged as the man Eddie Jones believes should lead a new toughened-up England into the new era.
The Northampton Saints hooker was not a part of England's failed Rugby World Cup campaign
The Northampton hooker, who was left out of the World Cup squad after being suspended for head-butting Jamie George, has a chequered disciplinary record.
He has accrued 51 weeks' worth of suspensions in a career which has brought 61 Test caps.
But Jones is understood to have earmarked England's most experienced forward as the man to succeed Chris Robshaw as skipper for the Six Nations' Championship.

With the fiery Mike Brown as a possible deputy, a promotion for the New Zealand-born Hartley would send a clear signal of a more confrontational England.
Hartley, 29, who is currently sidelined with concussion, served as Northampton captain for six seasons before standing down this season and led England in the final Test on the 2012 tour to South Africa when Robshaw was injured.
