Brad Barritt grits the road for Saracens ahead of Clermont semi-final
BRAD BARRITT has told his Saracens team they have the “grit and determination” to topple Clermont Auvergne in today’s European Champions Cup semi-final in St Etienne.
Brad Barritt is confident Saracens can overcome Clermont
The England centre issued the rallying cry after taking over the captaincy from injured lock Alistair Hargreaves.
Saracens toppled Clemont’s French rivals Racing Metro in the quarter-final thanks to a last-gasp 12-11 win. And Barritt, who has overcome a knee injury that wrecked his Six Nations campaign, said: “The win over Racing was down to true grit.
“We did not play our best rugby but we were still able to come through it because of our determination.
“We know against Clermont we will have to find a different gear to be successful. But we have that extra quality to be able to fight through key moments in a game.”
