LEICESTER 11 NORTHAMPTON 3: Manu punch fury
Two iconic weapons from THE LORD OF THE RINGS movies are on sale for up to £147,000.
Saruman's staff and Aragorn's sword from the fantasy franchise, belonging to actor Christopher Lee, are to go up for auction as part of a movie memorabilia sale at Bonhams in New York on 24 November (14).
Aragorn's sword, Anduril, is expected to fetch between £88,235 and £147,000, while Saruman's staff, which stands at six feet (1.8 metres) tall and is topped by a hand-blown glass orb, could sell for up to £88,235.
As well as the weapons, the auction will also include the clapperboard used in the final film The Return Of The King. It has an estimated price of £3,500-£4,700.
Lee says, "(I have) treasured these important pieces of film history in my private collection (but) it is now time that someone else is able to enjoy their magic."
