England receive Jamie George boost ahead of France Six Nations showdown

Jamie George has recovered from a hamstring injury and is in contention to play for England against France on Saturday.

Hooker George missed Saturday’s defeat to Ireland but has joined up with the squad at their Bagshot base to fight for a spot this weekend.

The Saracens man had a savage January as he was replaced as England skipper by club mate Maro Itoje then got injured in a Champions Cup clash against Castres.

George, 34, who has 97 England caps joins Luke Cowan-Dickie, Theo Dan and Curtis Langdon as hookers in a 35-man party. 

Sale scrum-half Raffi Quirke and Gloucester lock Arthur Clarke, who were in the Girona camp last week, are both sidelined with injuries.
