State of Origin RECAP: Reaction as NSW beat Queensland in Game 1
STATE OF ORIGIN recap - Relive NSW vs Queensland in Game 1.
New South Wales Blues took the bragging rights in the first State of Origin game of the 2018 series.
Blues came from behind to beat Queensland 22-12 and take a step towards only a second State of Origin triumph since 2006.
James Tedesco’s early try and a James Maloney penalty kick had the inexperienced NSW 8-6 up at half time.
And they reacted well when Queensland’s Dane Gagai - an injury doubt before kick off with a fractured finger - put Maroons in front.
But dot downs for Latrell Mitchell, Tom Trbojevic and Josh Addo-Carr - plus two Maloney conversions - saw Blues run away with the win.
Game II of the three-match series takes place on Sunday, June 24 in New South Wales’ home of Sydney.
