Winter Olympics 2018: Roger Federer hails Swiss medal trio
ROGER FEDERER has taken to Twitter to hail the achievement of his Swiss compatriots at the Winter Olympics.
Dario Cologna won gold in the cross-country
Federer is currently in the Netherlands for the Rotterdam Open where he is in quarter-final action this evening but the 36-year-old is clearly keeping an eye on what Switzerland are doing in Pyeongchang.
Federer first congratulated slalom skier Wendy Holdener, who won an Olympic silver medal on Friday.
She was beaten by Swedish veteran Frida Hansdotter but Federer wrote: “Congratulations Wendy” with four emojis including the Swiss flag, a silver medal, a bicep and skiing.
Holdener said after her event: “I never could show two runs of good skiing together in my career in slalom but it’s not so bad to get second.”

Cologna’s gold was his third in the event having won in Vancouver in 2010 and Sochi in 2014
Federer then wrote: “yeaaaahhhhh” in response to Beat Feuz winning silver in the Super-G today.
It was Feuz’s second medal of the Games after winning bronze in the downhill competition earlier in the week.
He said: “Second medal for these Olympic Games is really nice. That's a dream for me. I hope in four years I come back for the gold medal.”
Federer’s final tweet was to hail Dario Cologna who won gold in the cross-country.

Federer tweeted: “woooooow” to Cologna, who is nicknamed "Super Dario”.
"It takes a lot of effort to just to win one gold medal," Cologna said.
"To write a little bit of history feels pretty good."
