The UK Championship began yesterday with 128 runners playing their best-of-11-frame matches over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Trump won five straight frames to beat Thailand’s James Wattana 6-2 in his first-round clash but complained about the ambiance of the match.
"There is no real atmosphere so it's very hard,” he told the BBC.
The Chinese player produced a break of 74 to win the match but admits he was by no means perfect.
“I missed some easy shots,” Ding said.
“[Igor] played well and made a few 50 breaks.
“But at 5-4 down I told myself to carry on and I knew that pressure would come so I was confident in the last two frames."
