CONOR McGREGOR beat Eddie Alvarez on a historic night in New York to become UFC's first ever owner of two belts simultaneously.

The Notorious defeated his American opponent in the second round as Alvarez failed to cope with McGregor's swift left-handed blows.
After a dominant first round which saw the Irish champion take down Alvarez three times, McGregor dealt the clinching hit with one minute and 52 seconds left in the second round.

McGregor showed no nerves as UFC headed to New York for the first time, with The Notorious even taunting Alvarez before the knockout blow.
McGregor held his hands behind his back as he tried to draw in the American, and inevitably got the better of him in the end.

And on his recent opponents, he added: “They’re not on my level.
“You’ve gotta have size, reach, length. You’ve gotta have attributes.
“He shouldn’t have been in here with me.”
