THE world’s best cycling talent are battling it out across the UK this week. Here’s everything you need to know about the Tour of Britain.
The world's best cyclists are battling this week in the Tour of Britain
Sir Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish, Steve Cummings and Ian Stannard are representing Britain in the race, which lasts for eight days.
Yesterday’s second stage was won by Belgium’s Julian Vermonte, with Cummings finishing just two seconds behind.
The Dimension Data cyclist is currently in the lead of today’s stage and is expected to claim victory within the hour.
Tour of Britain 2016 route
The race began on Sunday in Glasgow, with the first leg going to Castle Douglas.
Yesterday saw the competitors ride from Carlisle to Kendal, and today from Congleton to Tatton Park, Knutsford.
Julian Vermonte won the second stage in Kendal
Tomorrow the fourth stage will begin in Denbigh and end in Bulith Wells, with Aberdare to Bath the day after.
On Friday the finalists will cycle from Sidmouth the Haytor, Dartmoor, before an individual time trial and circuit race around Bristol on Saturday.
Sunday will see the winner crowned after the final stage around London.

How to watch the Tour of Britain 2016
The contest will be broadcast live on ITV4, with the first six stages airing from 1.00pm.
The final two races will air from 2.00pm on Saturday and Sunday respectively, and highlights will be shown each evening at 8.00pm.
