Masters title edges nearer for Barry Hawkins after semi-final victory over Judd Trump
BARRY HAWKINS marched into his first ever Masters final by seeing off world No5 Judd Trump 6-4.
Barry Hawkins has never won a Masters title
Hawkins started fast, chalking up three centuries in the first two frames.
Trump was considered the favourite following a thrilling win over Neil Robertson and he fought back to go 4-3 ahead.
But world No8 Hawkins won three straight frames to seal the victory.
Before this year, Hawkins had never won a match at this London tournament.
But he has put in a succession of fine displays at Alexandra Palace, and held his nerve in a tense 10th frame against Trump.
