Brit Menelik Watson predicts Oakland Raiders victory over Miami Dolphins at Wembley
MENELIK WATSON believes a change in diet will result in a change in fortune when his Oakland Raiders team play the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium on September 28.
Mancunian Watson endured a frustrating rookie year with the Raiders last season, with knee and calf injuries restricting him to just three appearances in the offensive line.
But the 25-year-old says his problems are now behind him, which he attributes to ditching the junk food and takeaways in favour of fresh fruits and vegetables.
“Last year was a nightmare, a lot of people were critical of me, but I understand my body a million times more than I did,” said Watson at Wembley yesterday. “I’m a different person and I’ve grown up a lot as a man.
“Last year I was eating out a lot but this off-season I’ve changed my diet a ton and started to take care of my body. I cut out all artificial sugars and crisps and started cooking for myself, with fresh meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. I lost 15lb of fat but gained 20lb of lean muscle."
It will be an honor to meet the UK Fans! I try to put the UK on my back every time I step out on the field. @nfl_uk

He added: “I’ve really felt the difference. I’m back running and jumping and just feel strong. My energy levels are a lot higher.
“I’ve had my back against the wall but that’s when I perform my best. I’ve put in the hard work and it will pay off.
“I can’t wait to run out at Wembley when it’s packed and everyone’s going crazy.”
